Wedig to lead Wisconsin FFA

Alison Wedig The gavel came down on the 85th Wisconsin State FFA Convention on Thursday afternoon with a new officer team ready to take the helm.

The new State President in Alison Wedig of the Darlington FFA, she was a state vice-president in 2013-14. “I am so excited to get the opportunity to serve Wisconsin FFA and continue the work I got to participate in this year.” She hopes to continue the growth of the Wisconsin FFA and the Wisconsin FFA Foundation. Wedig is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Ag Business Management.

Joining Wedig on the team are: Parliamentarian Ethan Dado of Amery, Vice President Maggie Larson of Osseo-Fairchild; Treasurer Matt Kortbein of Tomah; Vice President Danielle Jentz of Platteville; Sentinel Kaitlyn Owens of Wisconsin Heights; Vice President Sally Albers of Sauk Praire; Vice President Leeah Luepke of the Spencer FFA; Vice President Hallie Kopczynski of the Oconto Falls FFA; Secretary Kelly Wilfert of Mishicot and Reporter Kati Kindshuh of the Lomira FFA.

Also on Thursday morning, the Waupaca FFA was again named the top chapter in the state accumulating the highest achievement in the areas of student development, chapter development and community development. Thorp was runner-up with Sauk Prairie finishing third and the Holmen FFA finishing fourth. Waupaca ranked #1 in the student and community areas while Holmen was tops in chapter development.
